Kihaku Shibas: Who we are and why we are

We at Kihaku Shibas, have a dream. We dream of helping to shape this magnificant treasure of a breed into a more understood and valued companion. Through proper breeding, training, and love, we strive to help this breed thrive in our home and the homes of anyone who has a dog we have touched. We believe that its not just about breeding a great dog but about the responsibility and companionship these dogs bring. With a wise mind and masterful wit they carve a spot in each life they touch. These dogs don't just warm your heart but impact your very soul. Finally, we don't believe that Shiba Inus are something just to be looked at like a piece of artwork. Shiba minds need to be challenged. Through proper training and a bit of patientice a Shiba can train to do almost anything.

All of our Shibas are trained in various sports including conformation, obedience, rally, lure coursing, and agility. And a very special few of our dogs are even training to serve a greater cause in Animal Assisted Therapy and Animal Assisted Activities.

If you have any questions about the breed, our dogs, our training, or anything Shiba, feel free to contact us anytime.

I have three shibas and a sweet mix breed gracing our family at this time. I will be breeding in the future but at this time we are working on training and titling our dogs.

I plan on breeding Saphira in the future but the stud has not been determined. Inquires for puppies are welcome but a litter date is unknown at this time.

Rescue / Non Profit

If you are going to breed or purchase from a breeder, then you should support breed rescue as well. I go above and beyond this ethic. I foster 1-3 dogs at any time for NYC Shiba Rescue. I also volunteer my time as Director of Animal Welfare, watching over the care and training of all dogs in the rescue's foster care system.

If you are not going to help the homeless shibas in some form, please do not breed.
